Restore indexing the internal drive (with folder exceptions if necessary)

The utility of the app is much reduced without the ability to index the system drive/internal drive — especially given Spotlight's flakiness. I understand that indexing system folders can be problematic, but simply excluding the OS folders (and other known problematic paths) might be a workaround — or just indexing the user folder (potentially excluding the Library folder) would be hugely helpful

Heya Keith, we removed the ability to scan the internal drive in version 1.2.2 (the current version) after numerous user complaints that doing so would cause DV to scan tens of millions of system files - which for obvious reasons doesn't give a good user experience. Truthfully, I don't fully see the utility of being able to scan your internal drive as that is what Finder is built for. That said, you can still scan internal folders on your computer, we just blocked scanning the full HDD

Frase Ah, ok. I hadn't twigged that I could scan specific folders, which solves both the 'single place to search' problem, and also the fact that in my experience, spotlight tends to fall apart when your drive has a lot of files (in my case, a combo of a lot of cloudstorage stubs and 1.5Tb of local data). Thanks!
