Getting stuck on generating previews at same spot - first drive scanned

I’ve tried force quitting and doing “Reset Library” in Manage Library and I still can't get DriveVault to finish scanning my first drive. It gets stuck on generating previews at 24% complete every time - I've waited over 10 minutes to give it time to resume so it's definitely stuck. I'm on version 1.2.9 (26) of DriveVault and Tahoe 26.5.1. The drive in question is a 4TB SSD with about 640GB used, mostly containing folders of photos/videos and an Apple Photos library. Are there logs generated by the app that I can send to you to help troubleshoot? I was really excited to learn about this app and would like to register it for a larger number of drives, but if it is going to get stuck cataloging my photos and videos without a graceful way to skip problematic files and show a log of errors, I’m afraid it won't be a very useful tool for me!

Heya Jen, apologies for the short delay in getting back to you! This sounds frustrating, apologies about that. We have quite a few processes in place to make sure that if DriveVault gets stuck on a certain file, then after a few seconds it moves on from the problematic file and continues scanning. It might just be that it has landed in a folder FULL of problematic files and so it is slowly moving past them one by one. Is the number of scanned files completely stuck, or is it very slowly increasing one by one?
I know 10 minutes sounds like a long time to wait, but if it is very slowly increasing, then it may just need a little bit more time to get through this problematic folder before it hits the rest of the files that are easily scanned.
Can you please try scanning again for me, but instead of clicking "RESET LIBRARY", could you please click on the small "i" icon next to the drive in your drive library and then click "Forget Drive" - they both do the same thing in terms of removing a drive from DriveVault but in slightly different ways, it may just give DriveVault a fresh way to scan and remove a speedbump that an old scan may have left behind.
Then, could you try doing a "Quick Scan" instead of "Full Scan with Previews" - this will help determine if it is having an issue generating a certain file preview or if there is a deeper issue with scanning the drive itself.
Currently there is no way to send a technical report to us, but this is a fantastic idea that I will work on implementing and would allow us to diagnose your issue quickly and easily. Thank you for the suggestion, we'll hopefully have this rolled out in the next few days.
